Junior Vanshala Camp was organized from 29th September to 3rd October 2022 at Rajaji Tiger Reserve, Rishikesh . This annual event is full of adventure and excitement and a major character building activity organised by Ramjas Foundation (Ramjas Sports and Mountaineering Institute). A group of 80 students and 16 teachers from 8 Ramjas Primary Schools attended this camp. 12 students of our school along with Mrs. Ruchika Makkar, Ms. Darksha Khan and Mr. Dharmendra Singh participated in the camp after taking the blessings of our Principal, Mrs. Sonia Datta.

On 26th September , the children visited the National Zoological Park, Mathura Road to observe the habitat of the wildlife in a limited area and to see how the animals behave and feel. Finally the date i.e. the 29th September came when they had to proceed for the camp at Rajaji Tiger Reserve, Rishikesh. The forest of Rajaji National Park is a vast area with lots of greenery, tall trees, medicinal plants and wildlife. The camp was well organized by Mrs. Anu Vashisth, Camp Commandant and Mrs Renu , Deputy Camp Commandant . Students learnt how to be in discipline, how to do their work themselves with confidence. They came to know about flora and fauna of the area. 'Vanshala ' as the name suggests is a school in the jungle , one which is not learnt from textbooks , but by hands on experience. Many competitions were also held like Jungle quiz, Group song and skit competition, G.K test etc through these competitions learnt the value of teamwork ,coordination and cooperation . Games were also organised in which students and teachers actively participated and enjoyed a lot. The children also went to many places like Mata Vindhyavasini Temple, Chandi Ghat and Ganga Bhojpur Village. Children got the knowledge of various animals, information about crops, vegetables, fruit plants , living style of people in villages, means of transport etc.

On the whole Vanshala was truly an enjoyable and adventurous activity both for students as well as for teachers.

Our school won many Individual as well as group prizes –

1. Anika won the Best Vanshaliyan , 2nd prize in GK Quiz , 3rd prize in Diary Writing, 3rd prize in English letter writing and a Consolation in Memory game
2. Maryam Nisa won the 3rd prize in Discipline
3. Nidhi Choudhary won Consolation prize in English letter writing
4. Mohd. Azhar won consolation prize in painting prize
5 . Abeera Imran won Consolation prize in Discipline

Even in games kept for teachers, Ms. Darksha Khan won the 1st prize in balloon and glasses.

Mr. Dharmendra Singh won the 1st prize in Discipline.

Finally on 03rd October 2022, all returned back with great achievement and enthusiasm.
